Beginning Again

Greetings Entre City devotees. We return with a vengeance on July 1, 2008. See you then. The above mural is by Thomas Hart Benton, a relatively unknown painter in 1930s Indiana, who declared himself an "enemy of modernism" and began the naturalistic and representational work today known as 'regionalism.' The "People of Chilmark" was painted in 1920. The people sail a ship against a leviathan. Do they succeed? Chilmark, where are you today?
